The new regulation concerning the protection of natural persons with regards to the processing and free circulation of personal data goes into effect on May 25th, 2018, two years after Regulation 2016/679 was passed by both the European Parliament and the Council.
The purpose of the new regulation is the increase of the protection level of personal data collected through websites and online/offline communities and regards also the procedures through which this data can be used as well as the means to ask for information and to be removed from the communities to which they subscribed
